Teaching Philosophy
I am Sheree or "wizzlewolf" as some call me.
I am an artist.
I am a teacher.
I always knew I was going to be an artist.
However, I began teaching by default.
I was hired by the city of Pontiac, Michigan in 1980
to teach as an artist in the public schools.
It was then I learned I was supposed to be a teacher too!
Since 1980, I have taught in numerous K-12 schools in the Detroit, Michigan area.
Also, I taught at Macomb College and Henry Ford Community College.
In 1991, I moved to Florida. I was hired by the Pinellas County Arts Council
to teach as an artist-in-the-schools. Shortly after this, I was hired by the Pinellas County
School District to teach at Hamilton Disston School.
I currently teach K-12 EBD (severely emotionally disturbed/ Behavior Disorders) at this very special school.
This year I am also an art itinerant at Lakewood Elementary and Sawgrass Elementary Delta Unit.
I love my job!!
I keep myself very busy.
Along with being an artist/art educator,
I recently completed one year of studies for a Ph.D. in Educational Technology.
I am taking a break from that endeavor and concentrating now on various creative pursuits.
(Can we say: "I don't have enough money to finish my Ph.D. unless I win the lottery.)
I am also a working artist and have a studio attached to my home in St. Petersburg.
I live with LITTLE LULU, my new sweetie pie!
